Learn about Our Natural
World with Explore Outdoors!
Starting in 2017, GPMCT and Downeast Audubon have partnered together to bring nature-based programming to the students and families in Hancock county. Throughout the year, our education coordinator works with school classes, after-school groups, libraries, and other local organizations to teach youth about the importance of a healthy environment and inspire children about the outdoors. At this time, much of Explore Outdoors! programming has transitioned to online learning. What Explore Outdoor! looks like..
Working with Schools
Our education coordinator works closely with teachers in the Bucksport and Ellsworth school systems to offer NGSS satisfied lesson and activity information. These programs may be indoors, outside on school property, or at a field trip location!
After-school Programs
Focused on discovery and fun, children’s curiosity and interest drive the activities and discussion
Public Programming
Our public programming open to the public and often for all ages! Teaming up with libraries, we have hosted more age-specific programs.
