Join the fun at the first Wildlands Winter Wilderness Challenge, a snowshoe/ fat bike race on Great Pond Mountain. All abilities are welcome! We’ll have a fat bike race, snowshoe race, and winter duathlon (fat bike & snowshoe) race. The snowshoe race will be roughly 3 miles long. The duathlon will be a 5-mile fat bike ride followed by a 3-mile snowshoe run. Sign up as a team or take on the individual challenge. We will crown  “Wildlands Frozen Man” & “Wildlands Frozen Woman”-  the male and female participants who finish first in the duathlon as a solo athletes.

  • Registration & Packet Pick-up 7:00-8:30 am
  • Fat Bike Race Start 9:00 am (Long course (9:00, Short Course 9:15)
  • Duathlon will follow when fat bikes return
  • Snowshoe race 9:30 am
  • Food following the race
  • Awards & Ceremony (roughly) 11:30

The Essex Woods Fat Bike Race will be moved to the Wildlands so we can highlight the Capstone Trail in winter. This race is now part of the Wildlands Winter Wilderness Challenge. Register for the fat bike race here: https://www.bikereg.com/essexwoods
